Three Days Til CHRISTmas!

Posted on

Last night I was really bummed that I was feeling too much pain to get my workout in.  My hip wasn’t up for it, I could tell, so instead of pushing it beyond the limit, I decided to take the day off and rest last night so I’d be up for a good run today, like my Dad suggested.  After work, I stopped at the mall to try and find some books as Christmas gifts.  I was looking for “Southern Lights“, the new Danielle Steel novel for my Godmother, and Josh McDowell’s book, “Evidence That Demands A Verdict” for my friend, Julian.  I’m really excited for him to read it!  It’s such a good book.

Josh McDowell

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the name, Josh McDowell was a man who set out to prove Christianity wrong.  He wanted to find scientific evidence that Christianity and all it stands for is wrong.  I won’t tell you how it ends, because Julian is a blog follower and I want him to find out for himself, but the story is phenomonal.

Anyway,   I got home from the mall, whipped up a hughjass bowl of veggies, made of broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber, carrots, orange pepper, and homemade raspberry vinaigrette (SF Raspberry Syrup mixed with Balsamic Vinegar).  I ate a Sonoma Jack Pepperjack cheese & SF Blackberry Jam WW La Tortilla Factory Wrap on the side and finished off 1/2 of the Toasted Vanilla Coconut Light N’ Fit yogurt I had leftover in the fridge.  It was a yummy dinner, but dessert was even better!  I just heated a chopped golden delicious apple sprinkled with SF syrup and lots of cinnamon in the microwave for about 2 minutes.

It looked a bit like this:

Mmmm Apple Crisp♥

Then I went to the grocery store to stock up on Skinny Water and Clear Splash.  I also needed to pick up some fabric softener and napkins for the Momma.  She went to play cards with some old friends and wouldn’t have time to stop.
When I got home, I showered, hung out with my sister and her boy toy while watching the end of “Forest Gump” and the beginning of “Enchanted“.  The first one made me reminisce of the trip I took to Florida when my godparents and I went to eat at Bubba Gump’s Shrimp Co.  it was such a blast…
Anyway, I packed my lunch and prepped my overnight breakfast.  Lunch consisted of broccoli slaw melted with a Laughing Cow Light Cheese Wedge and Hebrew National 97% FF hot dog meat.  These hot dogs only have 40 calories in each with 1g of fat and are packed with protein.  They taste pretty yummy in this combo too!

Broccoli Slaw!

Breakfast was a cottage cheese fiber one mess again.  What’s new?!

This was prior to adding the fiber one crunchy goodness :)

In other news…Who’s getting excited for Christmas???? THIS GIRL IS!!!

Attune Chocolate Bars

Thanks to my friend Daniel at Attune Foods, I got the opportunity to review several Attune Chocolate Priobotic Bars!  They come in four tasty flavors including Almond Milk Chocolate, Raspberry Dark Chocolate, Coffee Bean Dark Chocolate, Blueberry Vanilla, Mint Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, and Chocolate Crisp

These convenient individually wrapped chocolate bars are like no other!  Each contains just 80-90 calories, including 3g of fiber!  They taste awesome too!  Always fresh from being stashed in the refrigerated section of the grocery store, the bars are great for probiotic wellness too!  They contain inulin, which is a superstar probiotic known to improve digestive health and maintain a strong immune system! More specifically, it protects the body from harmful bacteria, exercises the immune system to ensure it is ready to react to harmful bacteria, strengthens the intestinal wall so it acts as a defensive barrier, and digests fiber in the diet, so we can absorb the nutrients from the foods we eat.

Blueberry Vanilla, Mint Chocolate Tower.

Attune uses a blend of three different Kosher and GRAS certified probiotic strains selected specifically for their superior clinical efficacy and safety as well as demonstrated stability.  I can’t even pronounce the names, but since they’re in the reading material that I was provided about the nutritional value of priobotics, by Attune, I’ll post them anyway :)   These include Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM, Lactobacillus casei Lc-11 and Bifidobacterium lactis HN019.

Now for the important part of the review :) THE TASTE!   These bars were so versatile.  They were good allll on their own, but as we all know, chocolate makes ANYTHING taste better.  I used the bars mostly for toppings on Greek Yogurt…

Vanilla Oikos & Dark Chocolate

But I also did get a little creative and melted some in the microwave atop a banana.

Chocolate covered bananas have been a childhood favorite of mine since I was old enough to order my own on the Boardwalk at the beach!

Chocolate Crisp Bar With Banana: Pre-Melty

My favorite bar, on its own was probably the coffee bean dark chocolate bar.  I’m a fan of mocha, for sure.  They were all good though!  The blueberry vanilla was probably my least favorite, only because when I eat chocolate, I want it to taste like cocoa, not vanilla.  White chocolate is for the birds if you ask me ;)   Thanks, Dan for the great products!

You can find Attune Bars to buy online here or find them at your local grocery store in the refrigerated section with the yogurt, typically!
