I’m Alive :)

Posted on

It’s been awhile, huh?  Sorry for the brief hiatus.  I have been working on make-up stuff for school and playing catch up for all the things I had missed due to away games for basketball and our Championship travels.

This little article was brought to my attention by a guy at the gym who asked if I had seen my quote yet.  Haha.  I remembered talking to another reporter at some point, but forgot it was for the school’s paper.

The weekend was filled with some of my favorite things…In no particular order of chronology, here are some highlights:

I got to watch my little sis show off her skills on the basketball court.  She’s got game!  I wish I had more time to spend with her working on things and playing together.

I think she’s got a good shot at playing in college as well, if she chooses.  She developed much quicker than most of the kids her age.

Along with athletic events, school work came into play during my leisure time.We had to do expository demonstrations in our Speech Communications class on Saturday morning…I missed two classes already, so I clearly felt behind.

I was the FIRST person to go, on top of all of that.  I chose to do mine on Yoga positions, with the creative title, “Strike A Pose“.   I began my demonstration on the floor, but was quickly asked to move to the table top so that everyone could see.  I was more nervous about falling off of the table than I was about giving the speech!

Some other topics of choice included “Baby Changing 101“, “How To Fashion a Paddle“, and “How To Avoid A Heart Attack“.  Overall, I was pretty happy with the way things went and I received positive feedback from my professor along with my peers.

You can bet that I had some awesome meals this weekend…a few of the classics, that I can’t seem to get enough of are roasted vegetables,

Squash, broccoli, parsnips, yellow pepper, baby bellas, and cauliflower with reduced sugar ketchup and Cedar’s Cucumber Garlic Tzatziki for dipping.

Spaghetti…squash style :)

Salted and peppered, topped with cooked spinach and canned mushrooms, swimming in an ocean of Light Ragu

Colorful salads

Romaine shreds, cherry tomato halves, cucumber, canned beets, orange diced peppers, and Raspberry Balsamic Glazee <3

And then there were some NEW things that I got to try!

Dr. Praeger’s  Sweet Potato Pancakes

I thought the ingredients list was pretty impressive, as were the nutrition stats.  Plus, anything sweet potato, short of being deep fried, is okay in my book ;)

I figured they would be convenient and perfect for quickly packed lunches, but I couldn’t resist trying them out the day I got them.

They’re yummyyy, that’s for sure.  A little on the pricey side, but it’s not something I buy on a daily basis, so I’m okay with a splurge now and then.  I just popped mine in the microwave and nuked them for about 2 minutes!  They would probably have been better baked though, as the edges would’ve gotten crispy!

There were presents received this weekend, too!

Kopali Organics sent me some of their dried mango and chocolate covered dried banana to try out along with this cute green, organic tank.

Sure, the tank was adorable…soft and completely comfortable, but the product was AWESOME.

I love mango, but it’s hard to get ripe.  I couldn’t believe there was no added sugar to this perfect snack!

Oh yes, and there was another present that I received in the mail…but I’m going to hold you all in suspense and just show you a sneak preview photo rather than get into the details for now.  There will be a review coming soon, but trust me, you don’t want to get me started on these babies, or this post will be a mile long.

See what I mean?  Glorious :)

Of course, along with food comes fitness!  I enjoyed quite a bit this weekend.  There was a workout everyday.  Don’t sweat sessions just make everything better?   Maybe it’s just me, but I thoroughly enjoy a good workout.

Each session starts with Shaun T and Insane Abs…because, well, he’s the best eye candy ever…oh, and he does a job on my abs that I’m sure I’ll be thankful for, come beach weather!

As you can see, I like to stay entertained while I ellipticize by watching episodes that I miss throughout the week of things like One Tree Hill, The Biggest Loser, and Extreme Makeover Home Edition.

Before I know it, I’m down about 2 hours and 600 calories.  Nothing beats a basketball practice as far as calorie burn, but these workouts are nice and leisurely.

You know…they keep me sane.

To top off the weekend, I saw a new flick in theatres with my surrogate.  I love hanging out with her!

[source]

Personally, I don’t think it’s possible to make a bad movie when you’ve got Jen Aniston and Adam Sandler on the cast.  It was pretty cute…predictable, but cute.

So.  Tell me, what have I missed?!  What’s new and exciting in your lives?

XO.

Saturday

Chocolate Brownie Granola Gourmet Bar for breakfast!

It was finally the day of my massage with the best friend! :)   The day started off on a good foot, with my 8:30AM yoga class, followed by a brief 2 mile run, a lil’ bit of  ab work, and some cycling for good measure!  Then, I showered up & made some lunch:

Egg whites & hot sauce.

Taking advantage of the plethora of eggs in the house, I used some as protein power! Then, I also made another Strawberry Cheesecake smoothie with spinach, fat free cottage cheese, & SF strawberry syrup!

A new twist on the Green Monster!

I also steamed a bag of veggies in the microwave and ate them in my Progresso cup with salt & pepper.

Broccoli, carrots, water chesnuts, & sugar snap peas medley!

Check out the beautiful sunshine on my veggies!  It was a gorgeous morning, but VERRRRY cold.  I did not pack enough layers to go on a long run!

It was time to leave for my 2:30PM massage appt at Warm Springs Day Spa in Chambersburg!

The inside was nicely, and minimally decorated with soft, relaxing music playing in the background.

I love the color on these walls!

We were each given complimentary water bottles and the rooms were set up really neat.  Seperate rooms, but an opening in the middle so we could see each other and talk during the experience!  Not that we talked at ALL as soon as the massage started.  We were too relaxed (if there is such a thing!)  Haha.

All kinds of oils, lotions & potions.

Best friends.

Bran!

Me!

It was a heavenly experience.  If I had the money I would be going for one of these babies once a week.  Afterward, we hit a few shopping stops because I needed gifts for my Mom & sisters’ birthdays,  BOTH in April!  Can’t tell what I got because they are both readers of the blog, even though they probably both know what they’re getting anyway since they only gave me a few ideas.

I did pick up a dress to wear for Easter at Target:

Easter dress.

Then, we met up with her Hubs for dinner at this family restaurant, the Greenvillage Drive-In Family Restaurant.

I was pretty impressed with the lengthy menu at this joint!  I finally settled a veggie burger (Gardenburger brand) on wheat toast with lettuce, tomato, & onion with a side salad of greens, carrots, & tomatoes with Fat Free Raspberry Vinaigrette.

Dinner is served!

The sandwich came with a dill pickle that I also ate!

Wasn't much to look at, but it was fresh and it did the trick ;)

Bran ordered the grilled chicken & shrimp with french fries.

And Jare ordered the roasted turkey platter with mashed potatoes.

Looked like home cookin’!

We went back to their apt. for a little while and hung out together before I left around 7:30 for Nic’s place.

I did NOT take any pictures, but I will fill you in on all the juicy details ;)

When I got there, to my surprise, my cousin Renee and her guy, Adam, who actually introduced Nic and I, were at Nic’s place.  They had gone to a mutual friend’s birthday party and were hanging out for awhile.  We started a movie all together, Couple’s Retreat, to be exact, but Adam & Renee left soon after it started.  Nic asked me if I wanted to change into something more comfortable because i was in semi-dressy clothes, while he was in shorts & a t-shirt.  I said sure, and he grabbed me a hoodie & athletic pants to change into.  When I came out of the bathroom, I was surprised to find the lights off, wine glasses filled and on the coffee table in front of his couch, a big blanket, and strawberry cheesecake waiting for us :)   He was so sweet! I was still stuffed from dinner, so I didn’t have any cheesecake, but I did take him up on the wine!  It was a good choice, too.  Slightly sweet.  White Zinfandel, I think?

It was a relaxing night and I left in plenty of time to be home & in bed so that I wasn’t groggy for church in the morning!  :)   The perfect Saturday, if you ask me!

If you haven’t already, be sure to enter my AURORAE YOGA MAT GIVEAWAY by next Friday for your chance to win!!

Now, for your Verse of the Day:

“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”- James 1:12

What a comforting message! :)  God is so good…ALL the time.

Anyway, I’d like to update you on the rest of my trip!

As you read yesterday, Thursday night ended in a trip to Margaritaville & City Walk through Universal Studios in Orlando:

Friday morning, I had my alarm set for 6:10AM.  I knew that the resort we were staying at had a fitness room, and I wanted to get a nice workout in before we headed out for the day!

I brought my Aurorae Yoga Mat & my ipod, which included some yoga podcasts that I couldn’t wait to try.  I’m in LOVEE with my mat, by the way.  It felt good to get some stretching in after being cooped up in the car for 15 hours!  After the yoga, I hit the elliptical for about 45 minutes

After running back to our room, I hit the shower and got ready!  Myranda, my middle sister had softball games at 9:30AM & 11:30 AM and I wanted to make sure I had time for some breakfast before we left.  After all, it is the most important meal of the day! :)

Banana Nut Protein.

I used a bag of my packed protein dessert powder and mixed it with a serving of my packed fiber one in a cup.  I also had a banana on the side!

The team won BOTH of their games and played excellent!  They were a fun group of girls to watch.  At this point, my camera was dead and I was unable to photograph the rest of the day because my battery charger was in the hotel room :(   Here’s a shot of my little randa bear!

Colton Reitz

She didn’t get to play while we were there, so that was a bit of a bummer, but I was incredibly proud of her.  She’s an amazing person and she’s got a lot of potential on the softball field.  She’s the ONLY walk on that made the team!  She’ll have lots of opportunity in the future, I can tell.

Anyway, after the game, she wanted to go to Sonny’s BBQ Pit,

but I was already hungry since it was about 1PM, so I hit the provisions again.  I had snagged some hardboiled eggs from the breakfast bar at the hotel and removed the yolks to make an egg sandwich with some hot sauce & a light english muffin.  Then I munched on some veggies & this awesome cantaloupe that I got a Food Lion.

juicyyy.

I was a little bummed that I had already eaten, because they actually had a pretty awesome looking salad bar!

The family got these little corn nuggets in place of a typical bread basket that most restaurants supply.  They were too cute not to take a photo!

corn nuggets!

My Dad ordered the all-you-can eat bbq ribs, as did my Mom, with sides of macaroni and cheese and fries.  My sisters both ordered pulled pork bbq sandwiches with french fries and mac n’ cheese.

By the time we left it was about 3PM.  We were on our way back, and Spenser left a package for me of some of his FAMOUS beef jerky for me to pick up since he lives in Orlando!  I was so excited.

This stuff is soooo yummy!  My Dad is a huge beef jerky fan and he really enjoyed it.  Official review coming soon, so stay tuned!

Here’s some scenery from the trip downtown to his apartment!

The traffic in this area was absolutely NUTS.  It probably didn’t help that we were hitting it about rush hour time, though.  I had really wanted to try the Dandelion Communitea Cafe, but the family had eaten lunch less than an hour before and it was wayyy too early for dinner.  I’ve heard rave reviews from Caitlin.  Maybe next time…

Then, we went back to the resort for awhile to relax in the pool/hot tub until it was time for shopping and dinner.  We ended up back at TGIFridays for supper, where I ordered a house salad of greens and veggies with a side of steamed broccoli. I had already eaten an english muffin topped with a greek yogurt in between :)   Unpictured.  Sorry!

After shopping and finding some souveniers, we called it a night!

Next recap tomorrow! :)

As for today, I packed a lunch of:

Veggie.

Steamed cauliflower with a Sonoma Jack’s Pepperjack cheese wedge, salt, pepper, mustard, and minced garlic.

Protein.

Strawberry Oikos annnnd some Fiber One for crunch factor in my yogurt.

lunch.

Happy Tuesday, loves!

And be SURE to check out Elyse’s giveaway of some awesome Nature Made products for lowering your cholesterol !

Friday

I arrived home Friday night after work to an empty house.  My Dad left for a coaching clinic in Kutztown and my Mom & sister were at softball practice.  I decided to get the biking out of the way for the night and hopped on after getting changed.  I biked for about 2 hours while watching random online episodes of “Friends“.  For some reason, that never gets old :)   After showering up, my Mom took my sister to a party and she and I went to get Chinese food.

The usual :)

There is something about this dish that I can’t seem to venture away from.  I bet it would be good with chicken too, but I was craving shrimp! :)    The steamed veggies included broccoli, bok choy, carrots, baby corn, and green pepperI love the sauce they give you to use with it too.  Oil/cornstarch free!  It’s basically water, soy sauce, chili powder, and scallions with a touch of garlic.  YUM.  I have recreated this at home :)

We wanted to go see a movie but hadn’t done research on the showtimes, so we figured we’d just see whatever was playing to the closest time when we got to the theatre.  Unfortunately, we just missed all the starts for showtimes and would have to wait around for another hour or so to see ANYTHING.  We just went home and chilled out instead.  I may or may not have eaten a spoonful or two of this kryptonite peanut butter before bed.

Mmmm Vanilla Cranberry...

Saturday

I woke up kind of disappointed Saturday morning.  The wind was insaneeee, and Saturday mornings were the only real time I had to go running outside.  Flustered about the weather, I turned to a comfort food before our 7:15AM yoga class.

Oatmeal.

Yes, I cheated.  This is the result of an instant oatmeal packet.  Giant brand, no less.  But it was mighty tasty.  Cinnamon apple style.  The mix consisted of 1 packet oats + 1 spoonful dark chocolate peanut butter + 1 drizzle sugar free honey + a splash of unsweetened chocolate Almond Breeze. Sorry for the blurry picture.  I got excited and was too impatient to score a perfect one.

Yoga was alright, nothing too strenuous.  Don’t worry, I made up for it afterward with a 6 mile run.  Here is me when I returned home:

A little damp..

Not only was it windy, but the drizzly rain was WHIPPING me in the face.  Oh well, I felt good to have gotten to go at all!  No more complaining :)

I decided on a protein shake to refuel.  After all, Saturdays were my ALL OR NOTHING workouts.

I <3 you, Bella.

Sooooo, I whipped up a little BSN Banana Nut Protein dessert with some more unsweetened chocolate Almond Breeze.

Can you say chocolate covered banana milkshake???

After biking for awhile, I decided to try out the P90X cardio DVD.  I haven’t done this one yet, I usually stick to the AB RipperX, which I also did later Saturday.

I breaked for lunch somewhere in the mix of all the working out for a bagel thin with Raspberry infused peanut butter spread, a baby apple, and some raw veggies.  The only thing I managed to remember to photograph was the apple.  SORRY!

So cute!

I had a date Saturday night, so it was a little bit of a blurr the rest of the day.  I have no idea what I ate for dinner?  No documentation was to be found on my camera.  I can guarantee you I did eat, I just don’t remember what or when?  Haha.  All that exercise must’ve made me delirious.

We met at the mall and hung out there for a little while, then we headed to a nearby theatre and saw “The Crazies“.

It was sooo unbelievably creepy.  I seriously could NOT sleep when I got home.

Sunday

Did you all remember to “spring ahead”!?  I did! I even got up an EXTRA hour before church so I could get some biking & ab work in, leaving the rest of the day to relax.  For breakfast, I had some Banana Bread Nut cereal cookie.

I have a feeling lots of people forgot about the time change because there were slim pickin’ s at church in the morning!  After church, I had choir practice until about 12:30PM.  I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few staples for the week so I could pack lunches (lunchmeat, raw veggies, flat outs, & greek yogurt).  I was hungry for something warm and comforting when I got home and decided on homemade Vegetable Soup.

Steamed veggies in a Bella cup.

Steamfresh veggies + soy sauce + minced garlic + minced onions.  Alllllll blended together and eaten warm.

Allll the ingredients.

I’ll spare you the POST blending pictures, being that they highly resemble baby feces.

Along side my soup, I had a Flat Out smeared with sweet cream cheese Sonoma Jacks Pepperjack cheese + Splenda.

On a classy yellow paper plate.

It hit the spot!  Today was all about relaxation, so after lunch, I vegged out with the rest of the family watching movies and enjoying each others’ company.  A few hours later, I had a protein snack.

Plain Oikos.

Stirred in with some of this stuff:

Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup.

This stuff has ZERO calories!  Crazy, huh?

We played Phase 10 and were lazy bums.  I was a little sore from the p90X stuff combined with the running & biking from Saturday, so it was a nice recovery day for me.

Dinner was munchies throughout the night.  Broccoli slaw with ketchup, raw tofu dipped in sugar free honey + soy sauce mix, some vanilla sugar free pudding, and a whole wheat bagel thin topped with sugar free strawberry jelly.  I also had a bag of Black Cherry sugar free JELLO bites from Sheetz that my buddy, JD brought me :) Oh and a peach, too.  Sorry for the lack of pictures.  My camera was MIA.  I didn’t realize how SNACKY  I had been all night.

Hope you all had great weekends!

Saturday Recap

Saturday morning came, and this girl was pretty excited

I got a text at 6:30AM from our yoga instructor who is also a personal trainer, letting us know that she would be having a “boot camp” class at 7:30AM before our 8:30AM yoga class!  I was so pumped.  Usually the boot camp classes are before work on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I can’t make it.  We only have one shower in our house and since my Mom goes, we would both need to use the shower at the same time to be able to get ready for work in time, which wouldn’t work out.

Before I went, I had a quick breakfast of this guy:

Jam n' Peanuts Paley Bar.

Official reviews to come; Unofficial review-PB&J Larabar, meet your match! :) Need I say more?

Boot Camp consisted of many fun activities.  Jump rope, weighted frog hops, hip lifts, planks, side planks, weighted moon flowers, tricep dips, and squats.  Following boot camp, we had yoga.  It wasn’t too intense of a yoga session, but it felt good to stretch after boot camp, nonetheless.  After yoga, I changed into my running gear and hit the road.  I ended up running about 6 miles, and back home.  Upon arrival home, I hit the stationary bike for about 40 minutes

Afterward, I made a quick snack of some fat free cottage cheese with sugar free log cabin syrup drizzle:

tiny little bowl.

After my snack, I got a shower and got ready.  My sister and I were going with my Dad to visit my Grandma & Pap Pap who recently moved to Mt. Joy, about an hour from us.  My grandma just had foot surgery, so we wanted to check up on her.  We stopped at Sheetz on the way to pick up some lunch!

I’m sorry, I don’t always have a camera available since mine is currently broken.  It looked a lot like this though:

[source]

I got the chef salad with all turkey instead of ham&turkey, romaine lettuce, tomato, onion, jalepenos, banana peppers, cucumbers, green peppers, salt, and pepper.

I also snagged a bag of Sugar Free Black Cherry Jello bites and some liquid crack.

After visiting them for awhile, I snacked on a cup of coffee & an apple.

Then some strawberries and baby carrots.

I guess that much exercise in the morning makes your appetite rage the rest of the day!?

On the way home, around 6PM, we called the local chinese joint to order some dinner.  I got the steamed shrimp with steamed vegetables, the usual.

mmm dinner!

Weekend Rewind – Saturday

It was the big day!  It had to start with a BIG breakfast, right? :)

Jennifer from The Bread House was kind enough to send me a package of some of their delicious creations for review and I couldn’t wait to try them!  I busted open the Cranberry Walnut Energy Bars:

Official review to come.  Unofficially? I’d give my right arm for these treats.  HOLY cow were they yummy.  As if it couldn’t get anymore decadent, I decided to add this dynamic duo to the mix!

Chocolate Covered Strawberry, anyone?

Dark Chocolate Dreams by Peanut Butter & Co. with some Sugar Free Strawberry Nature’s Hollow Jam!  I cut a bar in 1/2 and slathered about a tbsp. of each on the halves.

This picture doesn't do ANYTHING justice. I need to start using my Cannon Rebel for foodie shots.

To relax my mind, I started with my weekly 8:30 AM yoga class at our church.  It was seriously so hard to relax.  I was so antsy to get my car.  My Dad had a meeting from 8am-9am at the church also, so we figured we’d go whenever we both got home.  As excited as I was for my new car, I was nervous.  It is a huge decision, requiring lots of money to be put out.

2006 Mercury Montego Premier

It came fully loaded with power everything, all wheel drive, a sun roof, 6 cd changer, heated leather seats, and only 24,000 miles :)   I am INLOVE.  To think that I actually second guessed myself on this decision is almost crazy.  I guess I’m just the kind of person who likes to be reassured that I’m making the right choice.  I had been praying and praying about it, and I’m so thankful that God provided me with the ability to make the purchase. It’s all thanks to HIM.

They were really good to me at the dealership, too.  When I got there, they had my baby all shined up and sitting in the SHOW room [which I got to drive it out of] with balloons attached! The men working there were so sweet!  They asked for pictures together with them in front of the car, too.

We didn’t get home until about 1:30PM (good thing I had a huge breakfast!) I was craving some veggies when we arrived.

Lunch!

Lunch consisted of some leftover veggies (plus some from my own stash) from Arooga’s the night before, with roasted red pepper hummus, and a slice of this awesome 14 grain bread from Rudi’s Organic Bakery topped with Lentil Curry from Bolani (review soon!) and a Diet Pepsi.

After lunch, I helped out my Mom by doing a bit of cleaning for her.  Wiping down our wooden cupboards in the kitchen, cleaning the refrigerator, and using lysol water on the appliances.  It was the least I could do for her!  After all, she does my taxes for free.

Snacktime:

Jonagold.

When the cleaning was finished, I went downstairs to get a nice biking sesh in.  I also did some ab work.  Burning about 600 calories makes a gal kinda hangry.  For my reward, I had some protein pudding + Chocolate Chip Crunchy Seed Cookie from The Bread House:

I almost forgot to photograph :)

Banana Nut Dessert Protein Pudding.

I had plans to go to some friends’ of mine that night, but the family wanted to go to a late dinner together since my sister made a surprise trip home from college.  We decided on Wayne’s in Millersburg, since they’ve got some yummy food and because then I could just drive seperately and go straight to hang out with the friends straight from the restaurant, being that they live in the same town.

I ordered my typical side salad as an appetizer:

with vinaigrette on the side.

And an entree of steamed shrimp, steamed sugar snap peas, & steamed broccoli:

peel n' eat.

veggie power!

After the awesome meal, we hung out for awhile and went our seperate ways.  The family went home, and I went to Scott & Sarah’s :)   I had a blast.  My friend, Dusty (home from Afghanistan) and his wife, were there too!  I hadn’t gotten to see them in SO long.  It was a great time.  We went old school and played “Nintendo”!  YES, I know!  I couldn’t believe they had one either!  It was awesome.  Super Mario Brothers, Duck Hunt, Tetris, and many other games were played :)

I slept like a baby when I got home around 1AM.

Fabulous….it’s FRIDAY.

Posted on

Andddd a payday….andddd I get my new car tomorrow….andddd I can’t wait for yoga in the morning….:)  Lots to look forward to, lovies!

Breakfast this morning was great.  Banana Nut protein shakewith fiber one crunched in the Bella blender for the crust taste.

Not beautiful, but mighty tasty!

It packed an awesome nutritional punch, too!  1 scoop powder + water +3 ice cubes + 2/3 C. fiber one = 200 calories, 4.5g fat, 23g protein, and 17g of fiber. Dessert and breakfast all in one!

For lunch, I packed this dynamic duo:

1 can pink crab meat + 1 light swiss laughing cow cheese wedge

I drain the crab and then melt the cheese wedge in with it.  Then, I pack a whole wheat tortilla (La Tortilla Factory is my choice) for dipping.  It tastes just like the fatty cream cheese and crab dip that is always at parties – only this one is a healthy version!  The whole can only packs 70 calories and 14g of protein with 1g of fat! See?

Along with that yummy concoction, I packed a lettuceless salad:

Cucumber, tomato, beets, and carrots all chopped up!

I just love red beets.  These are even from a can!  They give you a ton of fillingn fiber and the juice makes excellent salad dressing!

Hope you all have a fantastic Friday!

Sorry I’ve been slacking with the verses of the day!  Here are a few of my favorites for you to read up on.  You can even sign up to have daily verses emailed to you {here} so that when I forget to share, you won’t miss your dose of scripture! :)

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” -James 1:2-4

“Whoever has my commands
and obeys them,
he is the one who loves me.
He who loves me
will be loved by my Father,
and I too will love him
and show myself to him.”

-Hebrews 5:8

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you,
for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses,
so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

Sledding & A Swim Meet.

Posted on

After the egg making the night before, I thought for sure I’d have a rough 8:30AM yoga class.  After all, we were at the church wrapping up eggs until about 12:15AM!  I know, I’m such a grandma!

I actually woke up around 7:30 and decided to take advantage of the time by making some pancakes!

Batter Blaster = the best product EVER.
Nom. Nom.

Anyway, yoga went until 9:30AM and it was a pretty good class!  I like to leave feeling like I worked my muscles and I did Saturday.  My favorite classes involve lots of sun salutations.

Going into down dog.

Down dog, shifted forward to plank.

From there, you can do side planks, triangles, or up dog (my favorite).

I had packed my Under Armour cold gear for after yoga class so I could run straight from the church where our class is held, in town, and back home.  It’s nice that my Mom and I can go to yoga together :)   She’s so sweet, she even takes my yoga clothes home for me so I don’t have to carry them on my back while I run.  :)   I went for about 6 miles, total.

Lemongrass Mint Vanilla Herbal Water

When I got home, I downed an Ayala’s Herbal Water & a Jonagold before hopping on the stationary bike for a quick 200 calorie burn.

My friend Jonny :)

After the quick burn, I got a quick shower and started prepping for my younger cousin’s swim meet over at the YMCA in Elizabethville.  She has really been improving her times!  I’m so proud of her.  Not to mention, she’s adorable :)

After the meet, our families went sledding together.

All bundled up! :)

All my underarmour gear was dirty from my run in the morning, so I opted for a snow suit.  Haha.  I felt goofy, but it was just with family so it’s all good.  I stayed warm, that’s for sure!

Check out the beauty that I’m surrounded with!

Isn’t it gorgeous!?

After sledding, we came home and I made some dinner for myself.  It was a mix of cucumbers, carrots, hard boiled eggs, and cottage cheese.

Din din.

With a side of:

light wheat english muffin.

To top off a fun-filled day, my little sister, best friend, and I went to see Dear, John at 7:45PM.  We had an awesome time.  I had already read the book, and was a little disappointed by the lack of detail in the movie, but overall I thought it was pretty good!  I think I had more of an appreciation for the characters having read about them first.  Definite tear-jerker, though!  It was really well cast, too.  Channing Tatum never disappoints ;)

When we got home, I was definitely ready for bed!

Oh, and make sure you check out this awesome Progresso Soup giveaway!
