Sun Butter

Posted on

For those of you poor people out there who have been diagnosed with a peanut allergy, here is finally a terrific alternative for taste and nutrition!  I know it has got to be challenging considering many families use peanut butter as a staple, but have no fear, Sun Butter is here! 🙂 It is a product made from specially roasted sunflower seeds in a completely gluten free, peanut free and tree nut free facility!  I can tell you from  experience, that this Sun Butter tastes great!  Very rich, smooth, and creamy…just like peanut butter!  Not to mention,  Sun Butter is nutritionally superior to Peanut Butter.  With 1/3 less saturated fat than peanut butter, Sun Butter provides you with 27% of your daily Vitamin E, too!

My Match 😉

These awesome Sun Butter products come in 5 different varieties:  Organic, Natural, Natural Crunch, Natural Omega-3, and Creamy.  My favorite was the Natural Omega-3!  It had a great crunchy texture that was perfect for anything from oatmeal topping to banana and cracker dipping!  It containes 1000 mg of Omega-3 in one serving thanks to the added flax seeds, which provided the crunch!  The nutritionals consist of 203 calories, 16g of fat ( 1g saturated), 3g of fiber, and 8g of protein in each 2 tbsp. serving!!

Runner Up

Sun Butter has something to offer everyone.  Another favorite of mine, was the Natural Crunch Sun Butter which actually had whole sunflower seeds in the mix!   Mmmm.  I spread this variety on a whole wheat wrap along with apple slices and cinnamon and then baked it in my toaster oven for about 10 minutes.  The result was simply deeeelisshhhh

Sun Butter also comes in single serving packets!  It’s a convenient way to make an on-the-go snack for all you busy bees out there who are constantly on the move!  I even grabbed these puppies and slurped them right out of the packets!  Yumm!

Thanks to my buddy Justin, for sending me some Sun Butter for my review!  You can buy some here online and get a 15% off shipping on just about everything!  Be sure to check it out!
