A little while back, I got in touch with some folks at Scivation, a group dedicated to helping people reach their goals through proper training, diet, and supplementation.  They are totally committed to three general things:

* Proven IngredientsBacked by the latest research
* Superior InformationBased on science and experience
* Unparalleled Products—Utilizing research-proven ingredients

I can personally vouch for the company, as they sent three of these nifty products of theirs to try out!  I’ve been training pretty hard between Insanity, basketball practices, and running.  My goals are to perform optimally each time I step on the court, whether it be at practice, in the fitness center, or in my own basement!

First up to be reviewed, is the XTEND drink mix.  I am always reluctant about trying products with claims like “doubling your fat loss, doubling your muscle gain, and doubling your strength“.  It seems like a zero calorie drink of this nature would be an impossible feat to create…especially one that’s tolerable in the taste department.

Here’s what the site says:

“Xtend is a precise, scientific blend of Energy Aminos consisting of the proven 2:1:1 ratio of Branched Chain Amino Acids (L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine and L-Valine), Glutamine, Citrulline Malate, and Vitamin B6 that will give you the energy you need to maximize your training while enhancing recovery at the same time. The advanced components in Xtend have been scientifically proven to help speed recovery and enhance ATP production and promote cell volumization. Avoid fatigue by blocking entry of fatigue-inducing tryptophan into the brain. Increase protein synthesis, immune function and digestive health. Promote vasodilation which can lead to better assimilation and absorption of protein. Elevate growth hormone levels.”

Sounds pretty legit, right?

I thought for sure that something this awesome was going to taste horrid.  I was wrong 🙂  It wasn’t the typical chalky “gatorade powdery” mix that you dread having to use up.  It was flavored like a juicy watermelon and dissolved simply in a water bottle!  The flavor was actually really good!  It was as if I had taken a watermelon jello mix (minus the overwhelming sugary taste) and drank it straight up.

Next up is the Chocolate Whey powder that the company sent.  Now, I’ve had my share of different experiences with whey protein, but this stuff was pretty delish!  It wasn’t a fake, metal tasting chocolate flavor.  More of a malted chocolate milkshake flavor!  You can even use this stuff to bake and can find recipes on the website!   I also love that this stuff is totally fast acting and ASPARTAME FREE.

LOVE these stats.  I’ve used this stuff SOOO many times that it’s almost empty.  SUPER versatile.

I have never seen anything like this next product, before.  It’s called Knockout and it is heavensent.  You know those nights when you’re too afraid to take a sleep aid, but you  really want to get a full, good night’s rest? Yeah, that’s when to pop some Knockout.  It’s nothing unnatural or prescription.  Just a simple mix of ingredients to level out hormone levels.

Pretty cool, right?

Thanks so much, Scivation!  Love your stuff.

My gorgeous friend, Carrie presented me with this Stylish Blogger Award the other day, and I’m going to assume that it’s because of moments like this that have defined my style 😉

Okay, maybe not.  Haha.

There are 4 duties to perform to accept this award:

1.  Make a post + Link back to the person who awarded you this award.
2.  Share 7 things about yourself.
3.  Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers
4.  Contact these bloggers and tell them they’ve won!

Okay, so without further ado, here are my seven thangss.

  1. When I was seven, I got kicked by a horse and had to go to the emergency room.
  2. When I was a little girl, my greatest aspiration was to become a ballerina, although I had never had a ballet class in my life.
  3. As a kid, my little sister and I used to have annual tea parties (special invitations and everything!).  We had a sterling silver tea set that we used for presentation purposes and invited all of the ladies in our family and friend groups.
  4. I’m currently sponsoring two children from Compassion International and one of them, Robbin has a birthday coming up soon!
  5. In high school, I God blessed me with the honor of becoming a 1,000 point scorer on the basketball team.  I was 246 points away from scoring the all-time scoring record when I broke both of my wrists my senior basketball season.
  6. My best friend in the entire world has been since I was born.  She also happens to be my cousin.  We’ve been though a whole lot together emotionally and physically (cancer, broken bones, broken hearts, weddings, vacations, etc).  Never once have I ever questioned whether she had my back, and I hope the same is true vice versa.  Love you, Bran 😉
  7. My favorite bible verse is probably 1 James 1: 2-7 because it’s a great reminder that troubled times are STILL of God.  He is always in control.

“2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”
