Spring In My Step.

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.”- 1 John 4:9

Nothing gives me that extra edge quite like a Friday.  To be honest, this week wasn’t too awfully bad!  Last week was better, seeing as how we had off Monday and it FLEW by.  Plus, I got a new car…anddddddd there’s a new prospect on the table 😉 Still don’t know much about him, but I do know that he’s fun to talk to and we share a lot of common interests.

Last night when I got home from work, I had a yummy YOGA bowl from Rush

soy milk/ff milk, green tea, mango, banana, pineapple, & organic hemp granola.

for some stationary biking fuel along with an Adora Calcium Chocolate stuffed nanner

Adora Calcium Chocolates are flipping awesome.  You’ve got to try them…and this combo?  Unbeatable.  I just cut a slit in the banana with the skin on, broke two Adora’s in half, stuffed them in the slit, and microwaved the whole thing for about 1 minute.  The chocolate came out all smooth and melty….mmmm.  Calcium never tasted so yummy!  Perfect workout fuel too, with complex carbs!

I drank some Powerade Zero (Strawberry) while I biked my little booty off for about 2 hours, while watching “Friends” episodes online, burning 650 calories.   I’ve had the theme song stuck in my head ever since…

I'll be there for you... 🙂

My Mom was leaving work and she called me to ask what I wanted for dinner since she was picking up the family some food at Red Robin.  I did some quick research on the website and experimented with the Nutrition Calculator.  I decided on the Garden Burger on a whole wheat bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, mushrooms, pickles, pineapple, and veggies on the side instead of fries 🙂  They hooked me up!

The pineapple came on the side & the veggies are in the container on the left.

Perfectly steamed broccoli, peppers, snap peas, and carrots!

nom, nom, nom.

It was perfect!  🙂

I actually was still craving some veggies, so I added some from my own stash.

Around 8:30 I got snacky and decided on pumpkin yogurt for dessert.  I mixed some canned pumpkin with some Voskos & sprinkled it all with cinnamon.

yogumpkin. okay that's a lame name.

It was enjoyed while watching Nancy Drew with the little seester.

Be sure to check out this awesome giveaway Lauren is having of Chobani yogurt today, and Rhodey Girl is having a giveaway of these adorable ballet slippers called “Delicate Soles!”

Rush Bowls

Nicole from Rush Bowls really, really hooked me up!  Thank you so much.  I was dying to try them after seeing some brief appearances on KERF, where SIAB was made famous.  Rush Bowls are seriously some of the tastiest frozen treats I’ve ever consumed.  They’ve got a fun-loving philosophy, too:

And lemme tell you, they DO taste like sinful indulgences.  At the same time, you know that all the ingredients are completely wholesome and healthy because they don’t leave you feeling heavy or sluggish.  It’s quite the opposite effect, actually.  They’re energizing and give you a great energy boost!

They contain all kinds of fruit, granola, and soy protein, but absolutely

They arrive and are stored frozen, but turn into culinary masterpieces when prepared.  I actually tried mine frozen as well, just to see what it would taste like and it was almost exactly like fro-yo or sherbert!

I got to try four of these amazing creations including the Acai Au Lait Bowl, the Acai Beach Bowl, the Power Bowl, and the Yoga Bowl

My number one bowl was definitely the YOGA bowl.  The flavors were so SPOT on and it combined, in my opinion, the most deeeeelish fruits there are out there.  To top it all off, green tea flavor!  MMMmmm. I don’t think it’s possible to have a better combination of goods.  With 330 calories, 6g of fiber, 4g of protein, 90% of your DV Vitamin A and 70% of your DV Vitamin C, I was pretty impressed to say the least.

Second fave?  The BEACH bowl.  I’m a huge fan of banana flavor, and this really popped to me!  I think the mango and guava really complimented one another nicely as well!

The best bowl, nutritionally, was probably the POWER bowl, that baby packed a mean protein punch with 18g!  Not to mention the 9g of fiber included!  The berry flavor was really yummy in this one and the granola added to the taste with the fantastic honey crunch!

They were so easy to prepare, too.  Just stick them in the microwave for a minute or two to thaw, stir in the honey granola, and you’ve got yourself a quick and easy breakfast for those mornings that you don’t feel like cooking!

They’ve also got some other fabulous flavors available!  PEACH COBBLER, CARROT CAKE, JUNGLE BOOK, and HANNAH’S CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRY?! It’s killing me that these babies are made in Colorado…. 😦  If you’re lucky, you live by a Whole Foods and can pick some up there!

Thanks again Nicole!  You guys are GREAT!

Morning folks.

It’s only 10:30am and I’ll admit, I’m already in need of an attitude adjustment.  I was an hour late to work this morning due to idiot drivers who don’t know how to merge.  GRRRRRRR.  I get SO frustrated by that.  Seriously.  You should have to retake your drivers test at least once every ten years, in my opinion.  Either people are totally oblivious or just don’t care!  THEN to top it off, I get to work and someone parked in my spot.  I have a parking pass.  They don’t.  Talk about a snowball effect…Okay. Done being negative.  On to the positive!

Anyway, last night was a lot of fun.  When I got home from work, I was excited to see some new products for review!  So stay tuned to find out which ones I loved!  After tearing open all the boxes, I decided on some s’mores soy crisps + a Jonagold for some stationary bike fuel:

I found “Super Size Me” on Hulu and decided to use it as entertainment while biking last night.  I had seen the movie before, but forgot just how ridiculous it made McDonald’s look.

Granted, I don’t agree with suing fast food companies for lack of self control in Americans, but it is truly amazing how harmful processed fast foods can really be to our bodies!

It almost grossed me out to the point of nausea a little bit.  Makes me proud to say that I haven’t eaten fast food in over two years (nor do I have any desire to).

Anyway, after the movie, I decided to make some dinner.  I bought some lite tofu at the store the other day and ate the entire container (biking 50 miles makes a girl hangry!) Gliding Calm style (uncooked) with Tribal Moose Cranberry Barbeque sauce.

Raw Tofu & Tribal Moose

Then I treated myself to one of these yummmmmmy RUSH bowls for dessert (stay tuned for reviews once I’ve tried them all!):

After I showered, I organized the jewelry box that I got for Christmas, since it finally got attached to my wall, and then played cards with the little sister the rest of the night.  I got a craving later for the weirdest food ever.  Canelli beans!  I seriously ate them straight from the can after sprinkling in some splenda.  I know I’m a weirdo, but I’ve learned to give in to cravings.  Maybe it was my body telling me I needed some iron? Who knows.

Breakfast this morning was a no fail combo of:

Fiber One + Strawberry Oikos

On tonight’s agenda we’ve got a sibling basketball game & biking! Tomorrow is Friday, so there’s your silver lining!  I think I’m also going to start posting a daily Bible verse from my Daily Devotionals.  A little positive encouragement for the day 😉  Here you go!:
“Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart (1 Peter 1:22).”
Challenge for Today: Love without reserve.
Wow.  Attitude adjustment = CHECK! 🙂
OH! And here is an awesome giveaway you should definitely check out for Barney Butter!  But please don’t win, because I’d really like to 🙂
